Our Staff
All of the First Steps Simcoe facilitators are fully vetted and certified through Y.P.A.D. (Youth Protection Advocacy in Dance).
All staff have clean, and up-to-date police records checks, including Vulnerable Sector.
All staff hold current First Aid and CPR training and certifications.
Our facilliators are experienced in child motor-development.
All instructors follow a daily lesson plan and schedule.
Miss Heather-Ami
Miss Heather-Ami is the Artistic Director of First Steps Performing Arts Preschool.
She has been working in, and running programs for, daycares, preschools, and studios for 15 years.
She holds a BFA Spec. Hons (Dance) in Dance for the Young Child from York University.
She is a Level 3 nationally-trained gymnastics coach, as well as a Level 2 Acro Instructor. She is also a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
Miss Sherri
Miss Sherri is the Competitive Division Coordinator at Crystal Lake Conservatory.
Miss Sherri was the owner and Artistic Director of Basic Attitude Dance Company for 25 years before joining our team! A graduate of Ryerson Univeristy's dance program, she is acredited with CADT and RAD.
She teachers all levels of Preschool, as well as in the Conservatory.
Her son and daughter can often be seen dropping into classes at the studio.
Miss Michelle
Miss Michelle is our Junior School head teacher! You'll find her inspiring our youngest students with her energy!
A graduate of York University's Dance Program, Miss Michelle is an experienced career teacher. She is certified with Acrobatic Arts, and prepares students for RAD and ADAPT examinations.
Miss Michelle teaches our Pre-Junior, Junior, Pre-Primary and Primary classes.
